Abigail Castillo, an admissions counselor at Washington State University says that eliminating standardized testing requirements gives admissions counselors a harder job selecting students, but it does open more doors for students to apply to different schools. Schools across the nation have paused or eliminated standardized exam requirements in response to the pandemic. The most recent data from the U.S. Department of Education shows that nearly 1,200 colleges that received at least             1,000 applications in 2020 reported an average acceptance rate of 70 percent.
